Set in 1901 Africa, the king has been kidnapped and the golden throne is in peril. His daughter princess YaYa’s pleas to save her father falls on the deaf ears of the elders. She goes to the witch Olumide for answers but is given a cryptic prophecy saying that she will be queen. Emboldened YaYa makes plans to save her father and the golden throne. Embarking on a murderous tale of loyalty, betrayal, family and destiny.

About the Playwright
Cleo House-Keller is the Director of the School of Theatre & Dance at Stephen F. Austin State University. His works Sarah Then and Now & The Woman Who Can’t Say I’m Sorry have been published as part of the Bishop Arts Center’s Monologue Project. His play Jamestown appeared as a part of the Fade to Black Reading Series. YaYa and the Golden Throne is his first published full length play and he is the author many false starts and undiscovered master pieces. He is a Helen Hayes Nominee and has won numerous awards as a director for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
