Forced to move out of their home and adjust to a new normal, the Dashwoods navigate social change, expectations, and classic Jane Austen romances in this adaptation that reimagines them as women of color living in New York City in the summer of 1976.

About the Playwright
Anjali enjoys writing plays and screenplays about flowers and dunkin donuts and orcas and ukuleles and podcast bros and regency dating retreats and other random corners of the social world. She graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Sociology, where two of her plays were produced, including a Jane Austen adaptation she directed, “Sense and Sensibility: 1976.” She also studied playwriting at The National Theater Institute at The Eugene O’Neill Center. After working as a Production Assistant at Lincoln Center Theater and working in theater education, she currently is doing her MSc in Sociology at The London School of Economics, focusing on cultural and political sociology and continuing to write.
