MASTERS OF THE DARK REALM

A fellowship of five thirtysomething friends have been playing Masters of the Dark Realm (a Dungeons & Dragons type roleplaying game) since high school. One night, their Game Master, Joel, and his wife, Nicole, announce that they’re going to have a baby, so it’d be a good time to end their game. Forever. Seeing how upset their friends are, Joel and Nicole decide to help them each find new, personal quests in their lives. Things don’t go as planned and bad feelings grow between them. Then when the fellowship is confronted with an unexpected tragedy, they must choose between giving up on reality, or pulling together to slay their personal dragons.

About the Playwright
Thomas J. Misuraca studied writing at Emerson College in his hometown of Boston. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles. Over 150 of his short plays have been staged globally, often winning audience favorite awards. Thirteen of his full-lengths have been produced throughout the country. His musical, Geeks!, was produced Off Broadway in 2019.
Tom won the Las Vegas Little Theatre New Works Award three times (2014, 2019 and 2022). His play, In Dogs We Trust, won second place in 2023 The Pickering Award. He won the award in 2014 for his superhero nursing home play, Golden Age.
He’s writer-in-residence for Roaring Epiphany Production Company in NYC, who work to give all actors opportunities, especially those on the spectrum. He is a member of the Dramatist Guild, The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights and First Stage LA.
