(MARY)TODD
by Dennis Bush

A former sex worker and performance artist, Todd Lincoln went out for a night on the town with his boyfriend and ended up with the man’s bloody head in his lap. Now the assistant manager of the Jesus-Washed-Me-White-As-Snow Laundromat and Pentecostal Church, Todd leads the audience on a balls-out (quite literally), heartbreaking and hysterical journey of his relationship with Abe. *Notes: The play’s run time is approximately 85 minutes (there wasn’t a box for that, so I checked 90+). Also, it’s a solo-actor play with the second male role being a recorded male voice that occurs only at the end.
- Cast Size: 2M

Saw it years ago in New York at its premiere. Inventive, smart, funny, sharp. I loved the show and love everything this playwright conjures.
This magical piece of storytelling oozes with surprise, sorrow and humor. Dennis Bush unapologetically shines a light on humanity, exposing its capacity for random cruelty as well as its hunger for true human connection.
This smart, sharp and haunting bit of writing will transport your audience on a wild and fantastic journey. And the ending will leave them asking, “What was that? And can I please have more?”
Deliciously irreverent and keenly observant. In-your-face is an understatement. Dennis never misses.
