About the Playwright

Meron Langsner has had his plays performed around the English speaking world.  Publishers of his dramatic work include Bloomsbury, Smith & Kraus, Applause Theatre Books, and YouthPLAYS.  His scholarly work has been published by Routledge, McFarland, and Oxford, and he has also had writing appeared in American Theatre, Backstage, and The Fight Master: Journal of the Society of American Fight Directors.  He was one of three writers in the United States selected for the pilot year of the National New Play Network Emerging Playwright Residencies, and is an alum of the Project Y Playwrights’ Group and the Stony Brook Podcast Fellows.  As a fight director, he has composed violence for over 185 productions, tours, and on-camera projects at venues ranging from LORT houses to top conservatory programs.  He holds an MFA in Playwriting from Brandeis, an MA in Performance Studies from NYU/Tisch, and a PhD in Theatre History from Tufts University.  www.MeronLangsner.com
