“Helvetica”

I’ve read and analyzed this script innumerable times, and had the distinct pleasure of being cast in an Off-B’way production of “Helvetica”. It is a very moving play, with strongly delineated characters, beautiful visual aspects, and strong positive messages about life and death, family, relationships, friendships, love and memory. It’s also a play that would translate well to school productions and community theatre, as the cast is small and allows for flexibility in casting and staging.

Fantastic!

This is a play about big things, like imagination, memory, and death, with a heroine named for a type font, a cardboard boat in which to go adventuring, and a stuffed bear to act as narrator and muse. I had the pleasure of seeing this play read at Atlantic Stage in Myrtle Beach some years ago, and it has stuck with me since. I’m happy to report it’s even better than I remembered. In short, fantastic work!
