DR. ARTHUR GOLDMAN’S BIRTHDAY PARTY is a journey through the mind of Arthur Goldman as he celebrates his 70th birthday. His party guests include his wife, his best friend and a visitor from his past. As the play progresses it becomes apparent that Artie is suffering from dementia and that what is real and what is only in his mind are indistinguishable.

About the Playwright
WILLIAM LUDEL is the author of A DEATH IN THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR TO KATHLEEN TURNER’S HOUSE ON LONG ISLAND, which premiered at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. His play RED & SCOOTER was a finalist for the National Repertory Theater Foundation Play Award. His play THE TRIALS OF THE OSCILLATING MARBLEMAN was performed at The Yale Cabaret Hollywood. His other plays include THE DRESSING ROOM, DINNER PLAY, EVVIE AND MORRIE SAFE AT HOME, 56 SPLIT ROCK ROAD, and ROBIN S. KLEIN BUYS A PIANO. For television he has written ANNA MARY MARSHALL CANNON and CAFETERIA. As a director he has worked extensively in regional theaters including South Coast Rep, Antaeus Theatre Company, Long Wharf, WPA Theatre, Hartford Stage, Pittsburgh Public, Yale Rep, and Williamstown. He has won Drama-Logue awards for his direction of “HAY FEVER” and “BLITHE SPIRIT”. He is the recipient of three Director’s Guild of America Awards and nine Emmy Awards for directing GENERAL HOSPITAL.
